Tutorial: Doublefold Centre Spine Card

Sharing is caring!

I learned this card from a fellow stamper recently, and it’s such a great and effective fun-fold card! I’ve already made it with two different kinds of Designer Series Papers. Be sure to let me know which you like better!

The first time I made this fold, I used the gorgeous Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper, and the Spotlight on Nature stamp set. Here’s what the card looks like closed:

Now I’ll show you how to make your own version of the card. This time, I used the My Small Business stamp set and the Country Woods Designer Series Paper.

Here are the measurements you’ll need:
Cardstock: 4.25 x 10.5″, scored at 2.5″, 5″, 5.5″, and 8″
Contrasting cardstock (six pieces): 2.25 x 4″
Contrasting cardstock: 3/8 x 4″
Contrasting cardstock: 2-3/8 x 3.75″
Designer Series Paper (two pieces): 2 x 3.75″
different design of DSP (two pieces): 2 x 3.75″
Basic White cardstock (two pieces): 2-1/8 x 3-7/8″ plus an additional scrap piece for die-cutting

Cut and score your paper and cardstock as above, and burnish the scorelines on the cardbase. The cardbase should look like this:

Use adhesive to attach two of your DSP panels to the contrasting cardstock mat layers, then attach to the cardbase as below. Use multipurpose glue to attach the narrow strip of contrasting cardstock to the narrow centre panel; this is the ‘spine’ of the card.

Mat your two remaining pieces of Designer Series Paper on the corresponding cardstock layers, and attach to the front of the card as shown.

Stamp as desired on your two white cardstock panels, then mat them on contrasting cardstock and attach them to the inside of the card as shown below.

Cut a shape (I used the Deckled Rectangles) from your white scrap piece and stamp it as desired. I used the “My Small Business” stamp set. Mat this on the corresponding cardstock layer, and then attach to the spine of the card by applying adhesive along the spine.

Here’s what the card looks like when closed:

As you might guess, I’ve started sending a handmade thank-you card to all my customers when they order, to let them know how much I appreciate their support. The “My Small Business” stamp set is perfect for this, and for all kinds of other thank you cards as well! You can see all the supplies I used to make this card right here on my Stampin’ Up! website.

Once you’ve made your own Doublefold Centre Spine card, come and share a photo with me on my Facebook page! I can’t wait to see what paper you will choose!

Happy Stampin’!

  1. I like the wood looking card for thanking a Man for ordering. And I would like the flowers for the Women who order.

I like the flowers the best, I like bright colors no matter what the theme.

    1. I’m a fan of bright colours too, Debra! Thanks for visiting my blog today!
