I’m very happy to be participating in a blog hop with fellow Canadian demonstrator Stefanie Pletscher, The Crafty Medic. The theme for the hop is PRIDE!

This is an important topic for me and my family, as we strive to be good allies and uphold the rights of all – regardless of skin colour, gender, sexual orientation, or any other factor. This past month has shown all of us that we need to do more: not just show acceptance and tolerance, but stand up to bigotry and prejudice in al its forms. My family and I will keep working toward this goal, now and always.

My daughter Gwen (12) absolutely loves rainbows, so I enlisted her help in creating this card. I blogged here about how to create a rainbow background just a few months ago, but I knew Gwen would take it in a whole different direction … and she didn’t disappoint! She is a true artist. Just look at all the amazing backgrounds she created… no two are the same!

All I had to do was choose one, and overlay the die-cut from Detailed Hearts on top of it for a bold Pride card.

I’m not even sure this card needs a sentiment – it seems to have a message on its own, doesn’t it?

Warning for those who would like to try the rainbow background technique: it will stain your bone folder. But then again, if you’re a rainbow fan like Gwen and me, you might just find that to be a benefit!

Now be sure to click the links below and visit the other blogs to see more wonderful Pride projects! Happy Stampin’!

This week’s Stampin’ Sunday video is a little bit different. As we all know, the new annual catalogue started on June 3rd. And since I obviously couldn’t hold an in-person catalogue launch party, I struggled with how to celebrate and share this catalogue with all of you in a fun and safe way. This video is what I came up with! It’s a catalogue tour with fun and prizes along the way …. kind of like we’re all attending a launch party together, but apart?! And of course it wouldn’t be a launch party without prizes, so be sure to leave your comments below for a chance to win!

Grab your annual catalogue, get comfy, maybe have a favourite beverage nearby, because we are going to do a deep dive into this awesome catalogue!

If your device/browser doesn’t allow videos, click here to watch on my YouTube channel. Don’t forget to like and subscribe while you are there!

I hope you enjoyed the catalogue tour! Don’t forget to leave me some comments for a chance to win a prize!

My Stampin’ Up! team members, the Stampin’ Queens, did a card swap recently with products from the amazing new 2020 Annual Catalogue. Because there was just a small number of us participating, we decided that we could each choose to contribute more than one swap card and show off more than one product … and then a couple other demonstrators decided to join the fun as well, and before I knew it, each member was receiving 25 gorgeous cards! Today I’m going to show them all off to you!

As usual, I’ve labeled the photos with the main products used and the names of the makers, and I’ve added a shopping list below so you can get any of the supplies you need to recreate whichever cards you fall in love with. Enjoy!

Don’t forget that you have a few more days to take advantage of the amazing Bundle Bash when you join Stampin’ Up! Until June 30th (that’s next Tuesday!),  join Stampin’ Up! and choose any stamp-and-tool bundle from the 2020 Annual Catalogue absolutely free. That’s on top of the already amazing Starter Kit deal, which includes $165 in product for only $135, AND free shipping, AND free business supplies, AND access to amazing online resources to help you succeed and build your business your way. Then you can join the Stampin’ Queens and participate in swaps like this! Learn more here, and then get in touch with your questions!

Thanks for visiting my blog today! This post is all about the five beautiful new In Colors that were introduced in our 2020 annual catalogue (also featured in my recent video). As you know, Stampin’ Up! introduces a collection of five fabulous on-trend colours each year, and those colours will be with us for two years. Want to know how on-trend this year’s colours are? Well, here’s a pair of running shoes I ordered online a couple of months ago, with three of the new In Colour inkpads next to them:

So we have one collection of In Colors that were introduced last June, and those will be with us for another year; and this new collection of colours that will be with us for the next two years. As shown in the photo below, the five new colours are (left-right): Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness, Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider, and in the front row, Bumblebee.

You can find these colours and the assorted product collections on page 143-144 of your annual catalogue.

The above notecards are the first project I made with the new colours and I learned some things along the way. These cards feature the In Color cardstock and the In Color 6×6 DSP stack. I always buy that stack of paper because it’s a great way to show off the new colours; you get 4 each of 2 double-sided designs for a total of 40 sheets.  But I noticed right away that when you layer the DSP on top of the cardstock, it disappears completely; there’s not enough white on the DSP to create contrast. So I recommend putting a layer of white in between your DSP and cardstock when you are making these monochromatic cards.

Did you notice that The Flowers for Every Season suite features all the new In Colors? What a terrific product – now, you can enjoy all the gorgeous new colours in paper that features beautiful floral designs, not only with monochromatic papers as with the In Color DSP stack. In addition to the Flowers for Every Season DSP, you can also get the co-ordinating Memories and More card pack. This includes a terrific collection of double-sided cards in two sizes and some sticker sheets for embellishing, and all of it can be used for either scrapbooking or cardmaking. These cards come together so quickly, and you don’t even need ink for some of them! I’ve used some of the included sticker embellishments to add dimension, and the Forever Gold specialty paper as well.

The below set of cards shows off all the different patterns on the 6×6 In Color DSP stack for a quick and easy collection of cards. These large words here are stickers from the Memories and More card pack, and I used my Triple Banner punch to create these banners. The only ink on these cards is where I’ve stamped one word on each of them, in black ink.

Another great way to show off the colours even if you don’t have the inkpads is with white embossing on coloured cardstock. I used the large flower stamp from Ornate Style to create these cards, and as a bonus – now you don’t have to colour in this image! Look at how striking these cards are. The DSP on the side is from the Flowers for Every Season DSP stack.

So, collections of monochromatic cards are great for showing off the new colours… but you can also show all the colours in one card.

And of course, you can use these colours for products other than cards! Samplers, chocolate sleeves, bookmarks, even calendar/post-it holders … I love getting super creative with these products!

Z-fold cards are a great way to show off our DSP and they are so simple to make, so I whipped up a set of these using a stamp from So Sentimental and the Layering Squares dies. Notice again I’ve got the white cardstock in behind the DSP so that it will pop, and I also used my sponge dauber on both the white layer and the scalloped layer here.

And finally my last project is this cute collection of 3×3” cards. Perfect hostess gift!

Our gorgeous new colours can be used with our existing colours, too. Here are some hints on how to do that:

And if you love to shop by suite, look below to see which suites feature our beautiful new In Colors:

So, now that you’ve had a good look at all the new In Colors – which one is your favourite? Drop me a comment to let me know! And if you’re ready to place an order, you can contact me, or shop 24/7 at my online store. Happy Stampin’!

The 2020 annual catalogue is now live! Before I dive into sharing my top picks with you, I want to bring your attention to the indexes, which will make it easier for you to enjoy your catalogue and quickly find what you’re looking for. Last year’s annual catalogue had a full bundle index in the front, but this year’s catalogue features two separate bundle indexes: Punch Bundles start on page 168, and Die Bundles start on page 173. As you look through these pages, you might notice that some of the bundles from the 2020 Spring Mini Catalogue carried over into this catalogue – a fantastic deal that allows you to keep saving 10% on those awesome products!

There is also a Stamp Set index that starts on page 189 and lists all the current stamp sets alphabetically – a huge help when you know what you’re looking for but can’t remember where you saw it.

Now, here are some of the products I’m excited to get my hands on. Will this help you narrow down your wish list, or perhaps add a few more items you hadn’t considered?

Best Item for BeginnersFancy Phrases bundle
Looking for a bundle that will get you stamping right away? The Fancy Phrases bundle is here for you! With a collection of charming sentiments (including Birthday Wishes, which must be the most in-demand sentiment in any crafter’s collection) and some sweet floral images, this stamp set is wonderfully versatile for a range of occasions. Pair it with the Fancy Tag Topper punch to create gift tags, cards, and other projects! Remember, when you purchase the two items together as a bundle, you save 10%!

Best Sentiment Stamp SetRidiculously Awesome
Did you know that when a demonstrator reaches one million dollars in sales, they get to work with a designer at the Stampin’ Up! head office to design a stamp set based on their own style and interests? This is one of those stamp sets! Ronda Wade (US) inspired this terrific stamp set with a range of fun, splashy sentiments. Big bold sentiments like this are a quick and effective way to finish off a card – and don’t you just love the fun fonts in this set? It really is ‘ridiculously awesome’!

Best Graphic Stamp SetSending Sunshine
The Distinktive images in this stamp set are simply stunning. Just imagine the amazing sunrise and sunset images you’ll be able to create! The sentiments included in the stamp set complement it perfectly, and quite frankly, just looking at these images makes me feel calm … and couldn’t we all use a bit of extra calm these days?!

Best EmbellishmentAntiqued Corners & Slides
Full disclosure: I ordered the entire World of Good suite the minute the demonstrator preorder period began 😊 I love the sentiments, the images, the stunning specialty DSP, the embossing folder – all of it!! I love that it is suitable for the Dads and Grads we are often creating for at this time of year, as well as so many other occasions throughout the rest of the year. Truly, there are so many people to whom I’d love to say “You Make the World a Better Place” and now I CAN. I wasn’t sure about the co-ordinating embellishments until I received them – and then I realized they are not only beautifully styled to fit this suite, but a lovely and unique addition to our embellishment collection. The slides can be used with any 1/4″ ribbon, and the corners can add dimension and interest to any layer of a project. I really like how different these embellishments are from the rest of our collection!

Best Designer Series PaperForever Greenery
Featuring elegant greenery with a watercolour look, this paper is absolutely stunning. The addition of Pretty Peacock to the rich array of greens (Garden Green, Just Jade, Pear Pizzazz, Shaded Spruce, and Soft Sea Foam) is a stroke of genius! Some of the foliage designs can even be cut out with the co-ordinating Forever Flourishing dies. I love that the images are not overly flowery – meaning, they can be used for masculine projects – but are also soft enough for feminine cards. I can’t wait to create with this gorgeous paper!

Honourable Mentions: World of Good and Ornate Garden
Each of these papers are absolutely gorgeous as well! I had to put them in a separate category as they are Specialty Designer Series Papers, meaning they include foil accents (brass foil and gold foil, respectively).

Best Punch BundleLovely You bundle
This bundle could easily swap places with the Fancy Phrases bundle as the Best Item for Beginners. A terrific collection of beautiful sentiments, a fantastic selection of foliage images – many of which are neutral enough for masculine or feminine projects – and a thoroughly customizable punch that helps you create layered shapes with one single tool. This is an absolute winner! I’ll be demonstrating this bundle, particularly this incredibly versatile punch, in an upcoming video – so stay tuned!

Best Die BundleOrnate Thanks
The sentiments in this stamp set simply can’t be beat. I love the fonts, particularly the small scripted phrases that perfectly complement the bold, stylish lettering of the larger sentiments and allowing you to create a completely customized collection of cards. And then the co-ordinating border dies, beautifully designed to make a huge impact on your project. And let’s face it – we all have so many people we want to thank, don’t we?

(PS If you love this bundle as much as I do, see the bottom of this post for info about my upcoming Ornate Garden Online Retreat! It’s a full day of crafting fun!)

Honorable Mentions: Forever Fern or Tasteful Touches
What do you love to do with your dies? Do you love to stamp detailed images and cut them out with perfectly coordinating dies? The best bundle for that is Forever Fern, with its richly textured Distinktive stamps and detailed co-ordinating dies. Do you love to stamp sentiments and images on layered shapes that add surprise and interest to your card? Then Tasteful Touches is the best bundle for you! (Maybe you’re like me and you just have to have them both!)

Best New Tool – Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machines
Count them – TWO beautiful new Cut and Emboss Machines! For those of you who’ve longed to get one of these awesome machines but bemoaned the lack of crafting space, you now have options – you can choose to buy the Mini Cut and Emboss machine, which is specially sized to fit many of our embossing folders and die sets. You’ll notice that all the products that are compatible with the Mini machine are marked with a purple “Mini” logo. The full-size machine, of course, can be used with any of the folders or dies in the catalogue. More great features to note:
– Both machines include the Base Plate and Cutting Plates you’ll need to get started
– The instructions are printed directly on the plates, so you’ll always know what layers you need
– Both machines feature platforms that fold, for space-saving storage
– Both machines are portable and have a comfortable carrying handle

Stampin’ Up! is still working with the manufacturing facilities to get these machines produced and into our warehouses, so unfortunately, they are not available yet – but they’re coming! Stay tuned as you know that I’ll be shouting it from the rooftops as soon as they are ready!

Crafting’s Unsung Heroes – See page 159 for a perfect summary of all the tools you’ll want to keep handy on your craft desk. They truly are the unsung heroes – they may not be exciting or colourful, but you’ll be reaching for them over and over as you create!

The Hostess stamp sets can be found on page 186. These stamp sets, Summer Days and Touched My Heart, are exclusively available to those who host a qualifying party during the catalogue sales period. By the way, check out the back of your annual catalogue to see exactly what that sales period is: June 3, 2020 – May 3, 2021.
