If you’ve been around the blog for awhile, you probably know that I love participating in swaps with other demonstrators. Swaps are a great way to get a whole collection of cards that use different techniques, folds, products, and ideas I never would have thought of! I use the cards not only for my own inspiration, but to share with my team members, followers, and customers, so that everyone can enjoy lots of new ideas!
I recently attended an event here on Vancouver Island for demonstrators in the region. In addition to the swap, there were also several make-and-take projects, too. And of course, all of these featured products from either the Mini Catalogue or the Online Exclusives. I also joined a mail-in swap with other demonstrators across Canada, so I have lots of cards to show you today!
I love gathering with other demonstrators and celebrating creativity at events like this. If it sounds like fun to you, too, consider joining my team and coming along to the next demonstrator event!
Here are the eight Make and Take projects we got to make at the event!
This amazing ornament was designed by Susan Easter, who also organized the event. She used the gorgeous Sophisticated Sled, Spotlight on Nature, and the Christmas Labels bundle!
Laurel Taylor also demonstrated an intricate 3D item; in this case, a stunning box that held a mini chocolate bar! Two punches helped with this project: Sparkling Snowflake Tag Topper, and Bough punch.
Carolyn Dieleman shared this fun fold card using the Greetings of the Season bundle, Winterly Tree Tops bundle, and Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. Sharp-eyed readers will notice I have already CASEd this card in a recent video!
Here comes the Sophisticated Sled again! This card also features the Snowflake Sky embossing folder and the Hexagon punch. So pretty!
This card is so simple but so effective – exactly the kind of card you want to mass-produce for your holiday crafting! Along with the Snowflake Sky folder, it features the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper and the Snowy Wonder stamp set.
This card features the same fabulous Take a Bow Designer Series Paper, and the whimsical Sweetest Star bundle!
Miran Bigrigg designed this terrific card using the Dear Santa stamp set and dies from Decorative Trees and Reindeer Fun – not to mention that cheery Take a Bow DSP!
And here’s the inside of the card. Surprise – it’s also a gift card holder! That clever little pocket is created with the Pocket Thoughts dies!
Here’s the project I designed for the event. It features Light the Year bundle, as well as Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper and the Birch 3D embossing folder.
Which of these projects caught your eye? (I bet it’s hard to choose a favourite!) If you’d like to get crafting with any of these items, you can place an order at my online store, or contact me and I’ll help you with any questions!
