It’s time for another swap card show off! This time, I’m showing off cards created with products from the autumn mini catalogue. There are cards to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and so much more!
If these cards have inspired you, be sure to check out the product list below to see all the items that were used to create them!
And by the way – if you love holiday crafting, don’t forget to register for the upcoming Christmas cardmaking mega-class, happening Saturday November 20th! Find all the info here!
I learned how to make this simple shadow box card a few years ago and decided to revisit it and show you all how to do it, using products from the new Autumn Mini and Sale-a-Bration catalogues. To make this fancy fold card, you’ll just need two pieces of white cardstock, cut to 5.5 x 8″, and 5.5 x 4.75″.
Score your larger piece along the short side at 3.75 and 0.75″. Score the smaller piece along the long side at 0.5″ from each side.
Die-cut a circle (or other shape if desired) in the smaller piece of cardstock, as shown.
Line up the scorelines of the two pieces as shown below, and slide into place so that the top and bottom of the cardstock pieces are lined up.
Use a pencil to mark the outer boundaries of the circle on your larger piece. This will act as a guide to show you where to stamp.
Stamp your image on your larger piece of cardstock, using the pencil marks as a guide.
Put your larger piece aside, and stamp a sentiment on your smaller piece, under the die-cut window.
Burnish all your folds, and erase your pencil marks.
Apply Tear & Tape adhesive as shown below.
Remove the backing from your Tear & Tape, and line up your small cardstock against the centre scoreline of the larger piece as shown below. Close the left flap of the card to attach the two pieces.
Open up the flap with the die-cut window, and hold the piece with the Tear & Tape as below. Close the right side of the card in order to attach the pieces.
Now your card looks like this!
And yes, it still fits in an envelope!
You might also want to add a piece of DSP on the inside to decorate.
Decorate the front of your card as desired.
Have you made any projects with this fold? Share them in the comments below! I love to see your creations!
I’m participating in another blog hop with The Crafty Medic, and today we’re celebrating Christmas in July!
The new August to December Mini Catalogue goes live on August 4th, so it’s a perfect time to take a peek at all the wonderful holiday goodness that’s headed our way next month. (And of course, we lucky demonstrators can order from this catalogue already!)
I was so happy to see that the beautiful Christmas Gleaming bundle, along with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper, is returning this year. This was one of my top picks from last year’s holiday catalogue, and Stampin’ Up! has brought it back for us to enjoy again! The copper foil accents in the Brightly Gleaming paper are absolutely stunning, and it’s so quick and easy to put a card together with the stamp set and co-ordinating punches.
To show off more of this gorgeous paper, I put together a scrappy strips card as well. This big bold Christmas Greetings stamp is now retired, unfortunately, but it’s still a favourite in my craft room! I think the sentiment from Winter Woods stamp set would also look really good here.
Another thing I love about the Brightly Gleaming paper is that you could use it all year round! Here, I’ve used the less-sparkly side of the paper to make a masculine birthday card. Once I started playing with this paper, I couldn’t stop!
I hope you’ll follow the link below to see the other Christmas projects, and get excited about what’s coming in just ten more days!! (But who’s counting!!)
And remember, you have a few more days to get in on Bonus Days. For every $60 you spend in July (before tax and shipping), you’ll earn a $6 coupon to use in August – when you’ll be able to order from the annual catalogue AND the new August-December mini! I’ll be placing an order this coming Monday (July 27), so if you need anything be sure to contact me before then, or shop online and use hostess code H2HUA3ET.
