In preparation for the upcoming January-June Mini Catalogue, I decided to use up the last bits of some of my Designer Series Paper packs. Here are the last cards with Ornate Garden:

And the last cards with Brightly Gleaming – which is NOT just for Christmas cards!

The last cards with now-retired papers Parisian Beauty, Peaceful Poppies, and Flowering Foils:

I absolutely love the Forever Greenery paper, and I bought an extra pack of it during last month’s DSP sale. This isn’t the last of that pack – I’ve got lots left still, which is why I felt I could make these lushly layered cards. I made 20 of each!

Then my Product Purchase Premiere arrived (that’s an exclusive pre-order open to demonstrators who attended OnStage). I ordered the gorgeous Fine Art Floral paper and whipped up some of these handy post-it note holders.

Thanks for stopping by to see my projects! If you’re interested in buying any of the supplies needed to create your own, have a look at the shopping list below. Take care and Happy Stampin’!

I’m participating in the “As You See It” Challenge again this week. These weekly challenges are meant to inspire creativity and encourage participants to interpret the theme as they wish. Anyone is welcome to participate!

This week’s theme is Hues in Twos, a fill in the blank challenge. You complete the sentence by filling in the blank, then you make your project based on the words you used to fill in the blank. If this challenge inspires you, feel free to play along … you have until Wednesday, September 9th to join the fun!

My answer to this question isn’t two specific colours. Rather, I would answer with “My favourite colour duo is bright and cheerful!” It’s impossible for me to choose a specific colour combination, because there are so many gorgeous colours to choose from …. why would I set limits on myself?! My favourites change all the time. This particular project was inspired by the leftovers from two previous projects, which were sitting in the scraps bin on my desk.

A few days ago I had my first play with the new water painters, trying to get a feel for how to use them. So I had a couple pieces of white cardstock, painted with Melon Mambo ink, sitting in my scraps bin.

I’d also been cutting out flowers from Daffodil Delight cardstock, using the Poppy Moments dies, while working on a card design for an upcoming class.

I really liked the way the delicately outlined flower contrasted with the bold painted stripes, so I grabbed these bits, added a few more elements, and created this card:

It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the upper panel of the card is embossed with the Subtle embossing folder, which adds just the right amount of texture without overwhelming the rest of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Don’t forget to click on the image below so you can visit the other blogs and see their chosen colour combinations. If you like my project, you can see the products I used in the shopping list at the bottom of the post.

If you’re interested in playing along for this time or next time, visit the Facebook page or the blog for the As You See It Challenge and get inspired!

Happy Stampin’!
