This fun treat holder is really quick and easy to make! It makes a perfect party favour, seasonal treat for Easter, Christmas, Valentines, or other, or just a ‘thinking of you’ gift for someone you care about.

Cardstock: 2 x 6.5” – score at 2.75 and 3.75”
DSP: 6.5 x 1.5” – score at 1, 3, 4, 6”

The treat holder holds three mini chocolate bars (Hershey’s nuggets), so you will also need three strips of DSP to wrap the nuggets, cut to 3 x 1.5”.

Start by scoring your cardstock and DSP. After scoring, you can use the scalloped tag topper punch to punch both ends of your cardstock.

Use strong adhesive (e.g. Tear and Tape) to fold the long DSP strip into a band.

This band will slide easily over the cardstock treat holder.

Use the three smaller strips of DSP to wrap around your chocolate nuggets.

Place the nuggets between the two score lines on your cardstock treat holder.

Decorate the treat holder as desired, including an 8″ length of ribbon to tie it closed.

I’ve also posted a video of this project!

Happy Stampin’!

Happy New Year! As the holiday season draws to a close, I wanted to share some of the beautiful handmade Christmas cards I received from friends, customers, and even strangers from around the world.

I’ve posted before about the fabulous Random Act of Kindness card group I belong to on Facebook. Here’s one I received in December. It might be hard to tell from the photo, but it uses the gold foil-edged cards, as well as red glimmer paper, silver foil, and gold foil. So much bling – perfect for the holidays!

all is bright

The Dashing Deer stamp set has been very popular this season, and hooray – it’s continuing on for the next few months! This beautiful card is also from a RAK friend, and uses gold embossing powder to make that deer really shine.

The exclusive Snow is Glistening stamp set was offered for sale in November, and my customer Angela made very good use of it to create this stunning card. I love how she used gold embossing on the snowflake, and beautiful rhinestones to decorate the tree.

Although I’m a non-drinker, I still appreciate the clever sentiments and beautiful images on this card featuring the Half-Full stamp set. My customer Trudy used the fine-tip glue pen to make the wine glass and bottle appear like they are full of liquid. Cool effect, eh?

half full

This card came from a customer I haven’t met yet – we’ve emailed back and forth over the last couple of years, and she recently moved to my town and will be coming to class this month! I’m looking forward to meeting her, and am tickled that she remembered me in her Christmas card mailout this year. This adorable card features a retired stamp set that I just love, set off with white embossing powder and charming red and gold embellishments. So beautiful – thank you, Chigusa!

I was in awe of this gorgeous shaker card created by my friend Dawn of Dawn’s Custom Cards. Just look at all that fun Christmasy bling in there! And the background of the shaker is silver foil, which is why you can see my hands reflected in the photo 😉

My friend Christine used the Star of Light stamp set along with both white and silver embossing powder to make this stunning card. I just love how elegant it is! I love watching how Christine has embraced her creative side in the past year, and finds so much joy in creating.

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! Did you send or receive any handmade cards? Share your photos in the comments!

Hope you enjoy these beautiful cards as much as I do! If these fabulous cards inspire you to order any of the products shown, you can shop 24/7 at my online store. Happy Stampin’!

Why did I sign up to do two craft fairs this month? I have no idea.

That’s how I roll sometimes, though! (Note: Sometimes = All the Time. As my long-suffering husband would tell you.)

I decided to up the difficulty level on this particular project by not ordering any additional Stampin’ Up! tools or supplies prior to the event. I could only use what I had on hand, as well as buying supplementary items that I could get locally (e.g., chapsticks for my chapstick holders).

Me at Vendor Splendor fair, November 3rd.

Here are the items I had for sale at the two fairs I attended – in addition to good old-fashioned greeting cards, which I was selling by the singles and in an acetate box as a five-pack.

Most of these projects were new for me, so I had lots of fun learning how to make them, and discovering along the way which ones were worth the time and effort, and which ones weren’t. Given more time (and more varied supplies), there is certainly no shortage of charming gift projects to make, and I found plenty of inspiration on the Craft Fairs, Stampin’ Style Facebook group.

I went for variety of products rather than huge quantity in any one product, which meant I sold out of a few things, including the beautiful candle cards below. On the second day of the two-day event, I had people coming back to my booth to ask about the candle cards they’d seen the previous day…. but they were all gone!

I also sold out of the star photo albums I made several years ago, the last time I was doing craft fairs. Last time I offered these, they were not a hot item. I got them out of the box they were stored in, figuring I might as well give it a shot … and by noon on the second day, I had none left. You never know!

Surprise, surprise …. after making all those gift items, the biggest sellers were CARDS! I sold over 85 cards, in singles, trios, and 5-packs (which I packaged in clear acetate boxes).

Which of these projects would you like to make? Comment below, and I’ll share a tutorial in the coming weeks!

The holiday catalogue is now live! Here are some of the products I’m excited to get my hands on. Will this help you narrow down your wish list, or perhaps prompt you to add a few more items you hadn’t considered?

Best Item for Beginners – Making Christmas Bright bundle
This bundle is the fastest way to start making fun, Christmasy cards right away. The Christmas Bulb builder punch is so charming, and the Making Christmas bright stamp set includes a truly fabulous collection of images you can mix and match to make an enormous variety of cards. As if that weren’t enough, Stampin’ Up! has offered one of their amazing “You Can Make It” kits as an option to go along with this bundle! The kit includes white and coloured cardstock, three inkpads, dimensionals, clear block D, and the stamp set and punch bundle, all for under $100. This is a great place to start your holiday crafting!

Best Sentiment Stamp Set – Merry Christmas to All
This stamp set is pretty much unbeatable for the sheer volume and variety of sentiments you can create when you mix and match the 28 included stamps. I think it’s great that there’s finally a “Happy Christmas” option for our friends in England! If you want to add even more dimension to your projects, bundle this stamp set with the co-ordinating thinlits set (at a 10% savings) – but even without the thinlits, this stamp set is a must-have!

Best Graphic Stamp Set – Peaceful Noel
This soft, floral stamp set is sure to be in use all year round in your craft room. I love the flexibility offered by two- (or three-) step stamping, and there is even a co-ordinating sprig punch to go along with the stamp set. I’ve seen some stunning and creative samples with this set and I know it’s going to be a favourite!

Best Embellishment – Santa’s Workshop Enamel Shapes
These adorable shapes come in three colours (Garden Green, Poppy Parade, and Whisper White) and a variety of whimsical, holiday-themed shapes. Will you choose the gift bows, the snowflakes, the pine trees, or simply the charming round dots? Whatever your choice, these adhesive-backed shapes are going to add just the right touch to your holiday project.

Best Paper – All is Bright
No surprise here, as I already raved about this paper in last week’s blog post. This paper features photographic images on one side, and graphical images on the other. Whether you want to create classic, sophisticated cards or fun, whimsical cards, this paper has you covered!

Best Bundle – Peaceful Poinsettia
This bundle has everything you need: a simple and beautiful collection of sentiments, gorgeous detailed stamps that are ready for a variety of colouring options, and a stunning set of thinlits dies that include both positive and negative images. And look closely at those thinlits: the set includes a duplicate piece, which will cut down on repeated Big-Shot run-throughs. Yippee!

Best New Tool – Take Your Pick
Have you noticed the ongoing trend of innovative products coming out of Stampin’ Up! lately? The Stamparatus, watercolour pencils, multipurpose adhesive sheets, Stampin’ Blends, embossing plates … they just keep giving us more and more ways to change up our crafting and I for one am grateful! If you haven’t seen this new tool in action yet, check out this video to see what the excitement is all about. This tool is going to make it so easy to add embellishments right where you want them, without any sticky fingers along the way. What a treat!

Best Bling – Joyous Noel 6 x 6″ Glimmer Paper
The holiday season without bling is just blah, but fortunately your projects will have lots of lush sparkle when you use the new glimmer paper. I’m told that this paper doesn’t shed easily, which is an extra bonus – although technically, leaving glitter everywhere is just another way to spread holiday cheer, right? 😉

Best Halloween product – Spooky Bats punch
It may be named “spooky” but for me these bats are awfully charming! These three cute bats can dress up any Halloween project.

ICYMI: Foil-Edged Cards & Envelopes, Shimmer Paint

And don’t forget these two awesome hostess sets, which you can only order if you host a qualifying party between September 5th and January 2nd!
