If you follow any other stampin’ blogs or Facebook groups, you may have seen the Double Wonder that’s been making the rounds lately. This is a template created by Shannon West of the Stampin’ Up! home office in Utah. I decided to jump on the bandwagon and try it out myself with the beautiful new Specialty Designer Series Paper, Ornate Garden! This stunning paper includes gold foil accents, which is why it’s a specialty paper. It’s part of the Ornate Garden Suite from the new annual catalogue coming out in a few weeks – but this suite is available now!

The Double Wonder is a way to get eleven beautiful cards out of one sheet of DSP. The template shows you just how to cut your paper and assemble your cards. I’ll walk you through the process, then you can download this printable template to help you make your own.

Start by cutting a 12×12″ sheet of DSP into two 6×12″ pieces. Set one piece aside, and cut the other into three pieces, as shown below. From left to right, these are Layouts 3, 2, and 1.

Layout 1:

Cut this piece into six pieces measuring 3 x 1.5″. These six pieces will make two cards.

Layout 2:

Cut a 3/4″ strip from the bottom of this piece, and set this piece aside for Layout 3. Cut the remaining piece into four 1″ strips. These four strips will make two fun-fold cards.

Layout 3:

Cut this piece into two 3.5 x 2.25″ pieces. These two pieces, along with the 3/4″ strip cut in the previous step, will make one card.

Layout 4:
You’re left with a piece measuring 1.5 x 3.5″. Cut this in half to create two pieces measuring 1.5 x 1.75″. Set these aside.

Now repeat all the above cuts on your second 6×12″ piece of DSP. Again, you’ll get two cards from Layout 1; two from Layout 2; and one from Layout 3. Cut your last 1.5 x 3.5″ piece in half to create two pieces measuring 1.5 x 1.75″; now you have four pieces this size, which you’ll combine to make one card.

Finish your cards with whatever sentiments, shapes, and embellishments you like!

Here’s a printable template to help you with your Double Wonder cards. Once you’ve made some, be sure to share a photo in the comments below! I love to see your creations!

The Seashore Stampers are hopping again, and this time our theme is Mother’s Day/feminine cards. I’m featuring a card I made using the Timeless Tulips bundle in the Spring Mini Catalogue. In fact, this card is almost exactly the same as the sample shown on page six – I’ve CASE’d the Catty!

This card is part of the Timeless Tulips Class by Mail I offered for the month of April. If you order the bundle, you will receive the kits and instructions to make five beautiful cards, as shown here. Since I couldn’t hold in-person classes this month, I thought Class-by-Mail would be fun! It’s not nearly as fun as getting together in person, but at least it keeps us crafting!

One thing is for sure, Mother’s Day (as well as many other celebrations) is looking pretty different this year. I hope you’ll take a moment to send a card to someone you care about – whether it’s your own mom, or someone else you admire and appreciate. It’s sure to brighten their day!

I hope you enjoyed my project! Now don’t forget to click on the buttons below to continue on the blog hop, and enjoy all the other Mother’s Day-themed creations! Click on “Previous” to visit Erica’s blog and “Next” to see what MiRan has created!

Happy Stampin’!
