Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I’ve got another Fun Fold card tutorial to share with you. My friend and fellow demonstrator Carolyn was kind enough to share the measurements with me. I hope you’ll enjoy this super easy card!

You will need the following cuts of cardstock:

Cardbase: 5.5 x 8.5″
scored at 2, 3-1/8, 5-3/8, 6.5″
White insert: 2 x 5.25″

Mats in a contrasting colour:
2 pieces – 1.75 x 5.25″
2 pieces – 1 x 5.25″
1 piece – 2 x 5.25″

Then you’ll need some Designer Series Paper:
2 pieces – 1.5 x 5″
2 pieces – 0.75 x 5″
1 piece of 1.75 x 5″

If you like, you can play with the idea of cutting all your DSP pieces so that the pattern continues along the panels. I did this somewhat, but because I was using 6×6″ paper which wasn’t quite wide enough for all the cuts I needed, I had to cut the last piece from a second sheet – so there is a small section that repeats. I still think it looks pretty neat, though!

Mount all your DSP pieces to the co-ordinating cardstock layers.

Burnish all your folds on your cardbase so that it stands up like this:

Attach all your framed DSP pieces to your cardbase.

Here’s what it looks like when folded:

Attach your white insert to the back of the card. Stamp on it if you like!

The final step is to decorate however you’d like.

And that’s how easy it is to make a Reverse Pleated Gatefold Card! It’s a real WOW card that doesn’t take all that much effort … and you could use so many different themes or products to decorate. As you can see, I’ve used the Whale Done bundle and the beautiful Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper to create this adorable Valentine’s Day card. The Whale Done stamp set is the featured product for February’s Creativity to Go! This stamp set is charming for kids and adults alike – great for cards showing love, congratulations, pride, gratitude, and more. For $29 (including tax and shipping), you’ll receive the stamp set along with prepared supplies and tutorials to create five terrific cards. You’ll also have access to an optional Zoom meeting where we’ll assemble the cards together! Best of all, because it’s Sale-a-Bration this month, you have the option of adding $37 in product to your order and earning a free Level One reward item! Subscribe from anywhere in Canada by February 10th!

Have you made any Reverse Pleated Gatefold cards? Share them in the comments below! I love to see your creations!

The new Spring Mini catalogue is now live! And wow oh wow, I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a new catalogue. I think Stampin’ Up! has really outdone themselves this time!

Best Graphic Stamp SetPretty Perennials

I’ve chosen this as the Best Graphic stamp set, but it also includes a terrific set of sentiments that will have you reaching for it again and again. Bundle with the co-ordinating dies and/or the FREE Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper, “Paper Blooms“, for even more fun!

Best EmbellishmentGilded Leafing

This new embellishment is as stunning as the name suggests! Gilded Leafing offers a truly luxe feel at a very affordable price. You will love dressing up your projects with this gorgeous new product!

Best Designer Series Paper Fine Art Floral

Imagine an artist, delicately painting individual canvases in a classic impasto style… that’s exactly how Stampin’ Up! created this paper! First, an artist hand-painted canvases with beautiful florals and textures in classic Stampin’ Up! colors. Then the canvases were photographed and turned into this unique designer series paper, including florals, patterns, colour variance, and all the touches of professional paintings.

Runner Up: Love You Always Specialty DSP

Not just for Valentine’s Day, this elegant paper is striking yet subtle. Don’t believe me? Look at this gorgeous Christmas card I received from fellow demonstrator Heather:

Thanks to Heather, I’m completely sold on this stunning paper!

Best Punch BundleSweet Ice Cream

I love that Stampin’ Up! has offered us this adorable, versatile stamp set with a handheld punch, making it affordable and accessible for every level of crafter. The stamp set includes ice cream cones, sprinkles, birthday greetings, sweet sentiments, and more, that will make everyone’s heart melt. The bundle is fabulous on its own, and the co-ordinating Ice Cream Corner paper is perfect for punching out those frozen treats!

Best Die BundleSimply Succulents

If you can only buy one die bundle from this catalogue, it should be this one! The gorgeous ‘negative image’ background is absolutely stunning, the stamp set offers a great combination of sentiments and images, and the rest of the die set includes not just dies for the stamped images, but lovely label pieces for these and many other sentiments as well. This bundle has it all!

Here are some beautiful hand-coloured samples of this set from my teammate, Dianna!

Best New Tool – Blending Brushes

These brushes are a game changer! It’s hard to tell from the photo, but the blending surface is not foam or sponge; instead, it’s thousands and thousands of velvety soft bristles that blend ink perfectly. You can apply extremely light shades of ink, create soft gradient backgrounds with no lines, use them with Decorative Masks or stencils, and so much more!

My first time playing with the Blending Brushes!

Kits

The Spring Mini Catalogue has three terrific kits for you to enjoy. Stampin’ Up! kits offer choreographed crafting experiences, expertly designed with precut pieces, instructions, and co-ordinated products for you to have a stress-free, successful crafting session!

Hello, Dear Friend is an all-inclusive card kit that makes 12 cards. Everything you need to complete the project, from beginning to end, is included.

You Are Amazing is a project kit that makes 16 cards and a decorated box to hold them. You will need to purchase the co-ordinating stamp set and inkpads separately, or use your own supplies to complete the cards.

The Flowering Cactus Product Medley includes stamps, paper, dies, and accessories that you can use to create whatever you want – cards, scrabooking/memory keeping, decor projects, gift packaging, or anything else you can imagine! Let your creativity run free, with the confidence that your end projects will co-ordinate flawlessly.

In Case You Missed It:

Imagine being able to stamp 18 messages with one stamp … and then flawlessly cut them out with one co-ordinating die! Make cardmaking quick and easy with the amazing Many Messages bundle. Prepare your sentiments ahead of time and be ready for any occasion at any time!

The much-anticipated Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is now available!  The mini machine comes with all the plates you need to get started. With a compact footprint and a price tag of just $82, it’s both affordable and convenient for crafters at any level!

I’ve had my new (standard size) machine for a few months now and I love it. It is steadier than the Big Shot, easier to use thanks to the numbered plates, and beautifully sleek and compact (did I mention the platform folds up when not in use?).

Remember that you’ll also earn a free Level One Sale-a-Bration reward item with your purchase of the fabulous new “Mini Machine”! This product is also available as a half-price item with a qualifying party of $550 or more!

Speaking of parties, the exclusive hostess set this season is “Suite Sampler“. As you might guess, the set includes a variety of stamps that coordinate with the suites in the Spring Mini – Dandy Garden, Fine Art Floral, Hydrangea Hill, Sand & Sea, Love You Always, and Ice Cream Corner.

Best Deal in the Catalogue: The Starter Kit on page 89
The Starter Kit is always the best deal in the catalogue! If you follow any other stampin’ blogs or Facebook groups, you may have seen the Double Wonder that’s been making the rounds lately. This is a template created by Shannon West of the Stampin’ Up! home office in Utah. I decided to jump on the bandwagon and try it out myself with the beautiful new Specialty Designer Series Paper, Ornate Garden! This stunning paper includes gold foil accents, which is why it’s a specialty paper. It’s part of the Ornate Garden Suite from the new annual catalogue coming out in a few weeks – but this suite is available now!

The Double Wonder is a way to get eleven beautiful cards out of one sheet of DSP. The template shows you just how to cut your paper and assemble your cards. I’ll walk you through the process, then you can download this printable template to help you make your own.

Start by cutting a 12×12″ sheet of DSP into two 6×12″ pieces. Set one piece aside, and cut the other into three pieces, as shown below. From left to right, these are Layouts 3, 2, and 1.

Layout 1:

Cut this piece into six pieces measuring 3 x 1.5″. These six pieces will make two cards.

Layout 2:

Cut a 3/4″ strip from the bottom of this piece, and set this piece aside for Layout 3. Cut the remaining piece into four 1″ strips. These four strips will make two fun-fold cards.

Layout 3:

Cut this piece into two 3.5 x 2.25″ pieces. These two pieces, along with the 3/4″ strip cut in the previous step, will make one card.

Layout 4:
You’re left with a piece measuring 1.5 x 3.5″. Cut this in half to create two pieces measuring 1.5 x 1.75″. Set these aside.

Now repeat all the above cuts on your second 6×12″ piece of DSP. Again, you’ll get two cards from Layout 1; two from Layout 2; and one from Layout 3. Cut your last 1.5 x 3.5″ piece in half to create two pieces measuring 1.5 x 1.75″; now you have four pieces this size, which you’ll combine to make one card.

Finish your cards with whatever sentiments, shapes, and embellishments you like!

Here’s a printable template to help you with your Double Wonder cards. Once you’ve made some, be sure to share a photo in the comments below! I love to see your creations!

The Seashore Stampers are hopping again, and this time our theme is Mother’s Day/feminine cards. I’m featuring a card I made using the Timeless Tulips bundle in the Spring Mini Catalogue. In fact, this card is almost exactly the same as the sample shown on page six – I’ve CASE’d the Catty!

This card is part of the Timeless Tulips Class by Mail I offered for the month of April. If you order the bundle, you will receive the kits and instructions to make five beautiful cards, as shown here. Since I couldn’t hold in-person classes this month, I thought Class-by-Mail would be fun! It’s not nearly as fun as getting together in person, but at least it keeps us crafting!

One thing is for sure, Mother’s Day (as well as many other celebrations) is looking pretty different this year. I hope you’ll take a moment to send a card to someone you care about – whether it’s your own mom, or someone else you admire and appreciate. It’s sure to brighten their day!

I hope you enjoyed my project! Now don’t forget to click on the buttons below to continue on the blog hop, and enjoy all the other Mother’s Day-themed creations! Click on “Previous” to visit Erica’s blog and “Next” to see what MiRan has created!
