This tutorial will show you how to make a W-fold card out of one sheet of 8.5 x 11″ cardstock. I’m using the World of Good suite for my project, but you can use whatever colour you like!

Cut your cardstock as follows, and burnish all score lines:

Cardbase: 4.25 x 11, scored at 5.5″
W strip: 1.75 x 11, scored at 2.75, 5.5, and 8.25″
Panels: 2.5 x 2.75″ (4 pieces)

If desired, decorate the inside of your card with DSP (4 x 5.25″).

Decorate your four panels as desired. I used cardstock and DSP cut to 2-3/8 x 2-5/8″ to decorate the panels.

Attach the four panels to your W cardstock strip. I found it easiest to apply the adhesive to the cardstock strip, rather than the panels. Keep in mind the panels are somewhat narrower than the strip, so the adhesive shouldn’t go all the way to the edges.

The W strip with all panels added:

Fold up your W and apply adhesive to the back of the last panel. Attach to the inside right of your card.

Now apply adhesive to the back of the first panel of your W strip, and close your card. This panel will attach to the inside left of your card.

Here are some pics of the finished card:

Decorate the front of your card as desired.

Have you made any projects with the W-fold? Share them in the comments below! I love to see your creations!

The World of Good suite is one of my favourites in the new annual catalogue. It’s a terrific collection of products: a stamp set with co-ordinating dies, a pack of stunning Specialty Designer Series Paper with brass foil accents, a richly textured 3D Embossing Folder, and gorgeous brass foil sheets. Then, there are two terrific embellishments: the Early Espresso faux suede ribbon, and the Antiqued Corners and Slides – which happen to be on my list of annual catalogue top picks. As an added bonus, the suite also includes a Memories and More card pack, which is perfect for memory keeping/scrapbooking, and can also be used for cards and other projects!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been playing with these products and really enjoying them. First off, look at the awesome colour palette of this DSP. This combination of colours is really appealing, don’t you think?

I absolutely love the sentiments included in the Beautiful World stamp set. “Life’s a Beautiful Journey”, “You Make The World a Better Place”, “Adventure Awaits”, and more make this stamp set perfect for retirement, graduation, travel, new job, and thank you cards, among others. There are so many people in my life who deserve a card saying that they make the world a better place – what a perfect sentiment!

Using the pre-printed cards and stickers from the Memories and More card pack makes it so quick and easy to create cards. I whipped these up in only a few minutes!

This suite also seems tailor-made for fancy fold cards, such as the W-fold and the Book Easel card. (Both of these fancy folds will be featured in upcoming newsletter tutorials, so be sure to subscribe to the monthly newsletter if you haven’t already!)

These items also pair well with other masculine-themed stamp sets, such as Sailing Home and A Good Man.

I’m totally enamoured with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder. If you loved the rich texture of the Stone 3D embossing folder offered during last Spring’s Sale-a-Bration, you’ll love this too! It really adds some awesome dimension to your project.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this look at the World of Good products! If you’re interested in purchasing these or any other Stampin’ Up! products, you can contact me today to place an order, or shop 24/7 at my online store. Happy Stampin’!

Good morning everyone and welcome to my blog! It’s time for another blog hop, this time to celebrate Father’s Day with some masculine cards.

My card uses products from the World of Good suite, which is in the new annual catalogue. If you’re one of my customers, you’ll be receiving this catalogue in the mail soon; if not, please contact me and I can get one to you. The new catalogue is jam-packed with awesome products for a wide variety of occasions, and there are so many wonderful items that you’re going to fall in love with! You’ll be able to order from it starting June 3rd, but if you can’t wait till then – and you want to take advantage of the best deal in the catalogue – you can join my team to get $165 in product for $135, and yes, you can include items from the new catalogue in your starter kit! You can learn more about this amazing deal right here.

This is the very first card I’ve created with this suite and I know I will be making many, many more. I think it is absolutely stunning with its old world aesthetic and elegant charm. Plus, do you remember the Stone 3D embossing folder from the Power of Hope bundle during Sale-a-Bration … and how much I loved the intense texture and hoped they’d have something similar in the new annual catalogue? My wish came true with the Old World Paper embossing folder. Just look at this amazing texture …. and just like with the Stone folder, both sides of this paper are so lush!

On a more personal note, I am looking forward to honouring my husband this Father’s Day. He has been working so hard to keep our family safe and cared-for during the pandemic, in addition to working long and difficult hours (at home) for his IT Helpdesk job. And he does it all without a word of complaint. We are so lucky to have him!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend, and that you are safe, healthy, and comforted in these challenging times.

Now don’t forget to click on the buttons below to continue on the blog hop, and enjoy all the other masculine cards. Click on “Previous” to visit Erica’s blog and “Next” to see what MiRan has created!

Happy Stampin’!

It’s easy as can be to create striking rainbow backgrounds for your cards. All you need are some ink refills, a bone folder, and a baby wipe!

Wrap the baby wipe around the bone folder and then add  6-8 drops of each colour ink refill to the wipe, creating five spots of colour. The spots will bleed into each other as they soak into the wipe.

Slide the bone folder across your cardstock to create rainbow-coloured stripes.

Experiment with different patterns and orientations.

If you’re left with any blank spots at the edges, you can trim the cardstock, or fill in with Blends or blender pen.

And finally, finish your card as desired.

Once you’ve made a card with this technique, be sure to share a photo in the comments below! I love to see your creations!

Happy Stampin’!

Today for Stampin’ Sunday we’re going to make a card with the Honey Bee bundle from the Spring Mini catalogue, and the gorgeous Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper has the word “specialty” in it because of the gorgeous gold foil accents on every piece. It is just stunning! This paper is a Level One reward item with Sale-a-Bration, meaning you can get it free with your $60 purchase until March 31st.

You could easily make this gorgeous card using Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the bees, but in the video I’ll teach you how to make a wobble spring to attach the large bee. The spring is pretty easy to make and it looks so cool when your bee can really fly!

You’ll need:

Cardbase: 8.5 x 5.5″
Coloured cardstock: 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″
White cardstock: 4 x 5.25″
DSP: 1.75 x 5.25″

Plus some scrap white cardstock for stamping your bees.

If you’d like to create a wobble spring for your large bee, you’ll also need the following tools:
– small circle punch
– pinhole punch, or a pushpin
– 30 gauge floral wire
– wire cutters
– screwdriver
– Tear and Tape

This week’s Stampin’ Sunday video will show you how to use your Stamparatus to create a really cool 3D wood-texture effect with the Birch background stamp. I learned this technique from Crystal Johnston in Victoria.

Crumb Cake layer: 4 x 5.25″
Black panel: 2-1/8 x 4-7/8″
White panel: 2 x 4.75″

I’m so excited to be participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlight event for September 2019. The theme is Encouragement.

This card is for my dad. When I was growing up, we spent a lot of time in a beautiful, relaxing location just like this. I hope this card reminds him of those good memories we built together!

I used a few different stamps to create my card. The Birch background stamp is one of my recent favourites – it’s so quick and easy to create a striking background on any project. Then I created the lakeside scene using the Waterfront stamp set. This is such a beautifully versatile stamp set, where you can create any scene you can imagine! Finally, I added an image from A Good Man, coloured in with my Blends markers and then cut out to attach to the card.

I hope you like my project and Vote for my card! You can do so here:

At the end of the voting the top ten winners will get the chance to be part of an international blog hop that will happen at the end of September. I would love to take part in the hop, so I would really appreciate it if you would visit the gallery and vote for my card. Have a look at all the amazing creations in the gallery, because you’ll get to vote for your favourite five projects. I hope mine is one of them!

If you’re feeling inspired by this project or any other, remember that you can find all the supplies at my online store. Remember to use the current hostess code when you order and you’ll receive a free gift from me!

The wait is finally over – the new annual catalogue launches today! Here are some of the products I’m excited to get my hands on. Will this help you narrow down your wish list, or perhaps add a few more items you hadn’t considered?

Best Item for Beginners – Above the Clouds bundle
This bundle has everything a beginner needs: some fun, easy graphical stamps that are suitable for a wide range of recipients; a versatile collection of sentiments to fit a variety of occasions; and a co-ordinating punch to step up your crafting game when you’re ready. I love the charming, watercolour look of the stamps, particularly the ‘background’ images Stampin’ Up! chose to include: clouds, pennants, birds, and banners. This will be a super easy-to-love bundle!

Best Sentiment Stamp Set – Here’s a Card
Clearly, the designers at Stampin’ Up! are keeping up with current trends in sassy-yet-sincere sentiments, because this stamp set has a great collection of them. Whether you want to send a card of encouragement (“It’s all messy. The hair, the house, the heart. Life”), celebrate a friendship (“I can’t begin to count all the times we’ve laughed together – mostly because numbers are hard”), or praise an accomplishment (“Congratulations on that thing you did. I’d give you a standing ovation, but here’s a card instead”), this stamp set has you covered. There are also a good number of genuine sentiments, including “I’m here if you need me”, “Thank you for being my friend”, “You made my day”, “Happy birthday”, and “May your heart find the peace it needs”. This is a terrific collection of sentiments that covers a wide range of occasions, sure to get lots of use throughout the year!

Best Graphic Stamp Set – Free as a Bird
Free as a Bird narrowly wins out over Floral Essence, which is also gorgeous and has a co-ordinating punch (you know how I love those!). I had to choose Free as a Bird simply because it will be suitable for a wider range of recipients (read: you can use it for masculine cards). I absolutely love the soft and simple lines of this stamp set, and the lovely sentiments that go along with them. The size of the stamps means you can easily complete a card with only one or two stamps, as shown here in the sample we made at OnStage:

If you want to step up your Bird Ballad projects even more, consider the laser cut cards and tin – a set of 12 lacy laser-cut cards ready for your finishing touches. The tin even includes 12 co-ordinating scalloped-edge envelopes, all for only $24.

Best Timesaver – Memories & More Card Packs
The two suites featured on the catalogue cover, Magnolia Lane and Come Sail Away, each have co-ordinating Memories & More card packs that can have you creating 50 flawless cards in only a few minutes, for only $15. Craft with the pre-designed elements as they are, or add co-ordinating products from the rest of the suite to really step up your projects. Either way, it’s a brilliant timesaver with great value!

Best Embellishment – Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit
Honourable Mention to the stunningly gorgeous flower faceted gems, created to co-ordinate with the Mosaic Mood suite but ready to add a touch of bling to any project. In the end, though, I have to give top prize to the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit. For only $15, you get over 70 individual embellishments including stitched felt shapes, silver charms, and paper clips, plus six yards of linen thread in two beautiful colours. And it all comes in an adorable designer box, ready for re-purposing or gift-giving! Sign me up!

Best Bundle – Daisy Lane bundle
I love that Stampin’ Up! has come out with another daisy-themed bundle, and this one is the best of both worlds. If you already have the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy punch, this new bundle will co-ordinate with it beautifully, and even includes a daisy stamp that fits your pre-existing Daisy punch. If you don’t have those products, you can jump straight into using this new bundle, with its adorable floral imagery (that fern!) and a charming new Medium Daisy punch. Absolutely delightful!

Best Paper – Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper
When I first saw this stunning paper on the display boards at OnStage, I audibly gasped. The royal colours, the shimmering foil, and the elegant repeating patterns … I am in love. And that’s before we even look at the rest of the suite, which includes a stamp set and die cut bundle, a beautiful embossing folder, sparkly rhinestones with the same rich colours, and shimmery reversible ribbon …! But back to the paper. Featuring one of our brand new In Colors, “Pretty Peacock“, this specialty foil paper is going to add a lush richness to your projects that any lucky recipient is sure to appreciate.

Best New Tool – Die Brush Tip
The new Storage by Stampin’ Up! is amazing, but we’ve already talked about that! There are some other great tools to check out, though. For example, remember last year when I predicted that we’d see some new interchangeable heads for the Take Your Pick tool? Well, here’s the first of them: a Die Brush Tip! The brush head fits right onto your existing tool, and helps you remove small cut pieces from your dies. When you order the brush head, you’ll also receive two foam mats to go along with it. Great bargain for $12.25!

In Case You Missed It …

Detailed Bands
This bundle leaped out at me right away when I looked at the catalogue. Similar to recent products like Stitched All Around and Dear Doily, it has gorgeous detailing along with beautiful sentiments that combine to make a big impact on your project. It has one major advantage over Dear Doily, too: with bands on the side, you won’t need to fuss with specialty adhesive, but can just use your snail on the wider bands, making this set a must-have for me!

Heirloom Frames Embossing + Die Set
Here’s a new idea: Stampin’ Up! has combined a pair of dies with a pair of embossing folders, so you can create your own embossed frames. What a cool idea! There are some beautiful samples in the catalogue using these products (see pages 4 and 13), which of course co-ordinate with the Woven Heirlooms stamp set – and YES, you can bundle the stamp set with Heirloom Frames for a 10% discount!

And don’t forget these awesome hostess sets, which you can only earn if you host a qualifying party during the catalogue period.

Did I leave your favourite product off my list? Comment and let me know!
