I had some time this week to play with a wonderful new stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue – Beautiful Moments. I really love the soft brushstroke style of these stamp images, as well as the lovely sentiments that go with them.
Here’s the first card I made, using my blends markers to colour in the image of the two little girls. It really reminds me of my sister and I, when we were little, going to the beach with our buckets to build sandcastles! I also used a small strip of the Flowering Foils paper from the recent Sale-a-Bration rewards, colouring that in with my blends as well.
If you don’t have too many blends markers, or don’t love colouring as much as I do, you might prefer the paper piecing technique. You can stamp the image with Memento Black ink on any DSP you like (here, I used a piece of Rococo Rose from the 2019-2021 In Color Stack). I did only a bit of colouring, on the hair and skin.
You can even skip the colouring altogether with splodge stamping (isn’t that a great word?). You can use any texture stamp you like to add colour, and it can be as abstract as you like. Here, I used one of the stamps from Beauty Abounds to add those dreamy bubbles.
I love the way these three main image stamps can be mix-and-matched with the sentiments to create the perfect card. There are some lovely additional images, too, such as the little birds, butterflies, flowers, and horizon line. This versatile stamp set really gives you the ability to create the scene just the way you imagine!
