As You See It Challenge: Fragile Flames

Posted on: March 10, 2020

This week I’m participating again with the crafting blog hop, “As You See It” Challenge. These weekly challenges are meant to inspire creativity and encourage participants to interpret the theme as they wish. Anyone is welcome to participate!

This week’s theme is “Fragile Flames”, named for the colour scheme of Poppy Parade, Grapefruit Grove, and Mango Melody.  I decided to experiment with a technique I just recently learned, using a baby wipe and ink refills to pull colour across the cardstock (watch for an upcoming blog post on how to do this technique!).

I used the Stitched All Around stamp set for the sentiment, and the co-ordinating Stitched Labels dies for the little hearts. It’s a little hard to see in the photo above, but the black layer is also embossed with the stitched detail dies from the same set, to add texture.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Don’t forget to click on the image below so you can visit the other blogs and see their projects using this same colour scheme. If you like my project, you can see the products I used in the shopping list at the bottom of the post.

If you’re interested in playing along next time, visit the Facebook page or the blog for the As You See It Challenge and get inspired!

Happy Stampin’!

Laura your ink-blended panel is a great way to highlight your sentiment and I love the addition of the textured layer behind to add interest. Thanks for sharing with us over at AYSI this week!

Thanks Joanne! I’ve been enjoying the ink blending technique recently. 🙂

The panel with the ink pulled over it makes a great ground for the bold sentiment. I like the addition of the two tiny hearts and the texture from the stitched lace die. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It Challenge.

Thank you Jan! The two tiny hearts do seem to balance the card 🙂

Laura, I really like your interesting inked background and then the lace background behind it. And those two little hearts are a perfect touch along with the bow! Thanks for joining us at As You See It Challenges!

Thanks so much, Heather! xo
