As You See It Challenge: Love!

Posted on: January 28, 2020

This week I’m participating in a new-to-me crafting blog hop, the “As You See It” Challenge. These weekly challenges are meant to inspire creativity and encourage participants to interpret the theme as they wish. Anyone is welcome to participate!

This week’s theme is LOVE! I decided to showcase the card I made for a recent swap, and tell you a little more about it. All the products I used are from the Parisian Beauty Suite in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Mini Catalogue.

With this card, I tried to create the look of the flowers having been pressed in a book, along with other souvenirs that are linked with the love story. The strip of Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper, covered in words of love and passion, is like a love letter, while the cardstock, stamped with postage images from the Parisian Beauty stamp set, reminds us of the envelope that the love letter arrived in.

I used the gorgeous Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder on the black layer to add texture. The flowers are from the Forever Blossoms stamp set, cut out with the Cherry Blossoms dies, and coloured with Blends markers. I added some Champagne Rhinestones to embellish both the sentiment and one of the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Don’t forget to click on the image below so you can visit the other blogs and see their love-themed projects. If you like my project, you can see the products I used in the shopping list at the bottom of the post.

I really like the way you’ve used a dark background with this suite of products. It tones down the sweetness and provides good contrast for the other very pretty elements. Great layout too! Thank you for playing along with us at As You See It. Now you’ve discovered us, we hope to see you in the gallery again. 🙂

Thanks so much for your feedback, Jan! I discovered As You See It through Heather Cooper, and yes, I will certainly plan to play along again! 🙂

Welcome to our challenge Laura! I love the contrast between the soft pastel blossoms and the striking textured dark background. Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It – hope to see you in the gallery again soon!

Thanks so much, Joanne! Yes I look forward to playing along again!

Laura, I love the Pool Party banner that you created your own DSP out of by stamping the postal images on it! I looks great against that black textured background. Good job, colouring the images! So glad you joined us at As You See It Challenges, and glad to see you’ll come back again!

Thanks so much, Heather! I look forward to playing along again 😀

What a lovely creation…the black background really makes your florals stand out! I like how you created your banners as well! Thanks for sharing this with us at As You See It!
