Hello and welcome to the monthly blog hop of the Seashore Stampers! Today our theme is Christmas (which is only 62 days away … but who’s counting?)

For my project, I chose to use ‘Tis the Season Designer Series Paper (on sale for 15% off until the end of October!) and the “Christmas Means More” stamp set. I loved this stamp set as soon as I saw it, as it features quotes from some of my favourite Christmas movies! As this stamp set is not part of a suite or bundle, it’s easy for it to be overlooked, but the beauty of it is that it can be paired with so many of our other products to create simple or elaborate cards.

‘Tis the Season DSP was perfect for this project as it is packed with gorgeous holiday designs in traditional colours. I tried to choose the papers that most reminded me of Dr. Seuss’ original book and animated movie, which is a favourite in our household!

Dr. Seuss (How The Grinch Stole Christmas) Part 1 of 2 - YouTube

After creating the card, I felt inspired and wanted to add something more to my project … so I decided to try my hand at creating that old Grinch himself! I used the Mini Curvy Keepsake dies, which quickly and easily create a gift box suitable for holding those yummy Christmas treats.

It’s definitely not perfect, but then again the Grinch’s “quick Santy Claus hat and a coat” weren’t perfect either 😉 It’s amazing what you can do with a Tulip Builder punch!

I hope you enjoyed my projects! Now don’t forget to click on the buttons below to continue on the blog hop, and enjoy all the other Christmas creations! Click on “Previous” to visit Erica’s blog and “Next” to see what MiRan has created!

Happy Stampin’!

This Easel Book Card looks intimidating, but I promise it’s easier than it looks … and you will love the results! I learned this fold from demonstrator Barb Tripps at one of our Vancouver Island Demos’ meetings, which are now held virtually!

To make this card, you will need four pieces of cardstock and five pieces of Designer Series Paper. I’m using the Whale of a Time DSP for my card. The photo above gives you a good visual of how this card will be laid out, which might help you choose your papers, and figure out which cardstock colours you want to use with which papers. The measurements are as follows:

A:
Cardstock – 5.5 x 8.5
DSP: 5.25 x 1-7/8 (2 pcs)

B:
Cardstock: 4-5/8 x 3-3/8”
DSP: 4-3/8 x 3-1/8”

C:
Cardstock: 5-1/8 x 3-7/8″
DSP: 4-7/8 x 3-5/8”

D:
Cardstock: 5-1/8 x 7/8″
DSP: 4-7/8 x 5/8″

Once you have cut all your pieces, score your “A” piece (cardbase) at 4.25″, and then fold back one side of your cardbase to that centre fold line, as shown. Crease well with your bone folder.

Attach your two “A” DSP pieces to the cardbase.

Attach your “D” DSP piece to your “D” cardstock.

Set “A” and “D” aside. The two pieces of cardstock and DSP you have left are going to create your book. Start by folding each of them in half, and creasing well with your bone folder.

Apply a piece of Tear and Tape adhesive to the wrong side of your DSP, along the centre score line.

Attach each piece of DSP to its corresponding cardstock, only along that centre score line.

Use a pencil to curl the ‘pages’ of the DSP.

Apply three glue dots on the wrong side of your DSP to attach to your cardstock. (Glue dots don’t show up well on camera, so I’ve added red circles to show you where the glue dots go!)

Leave some curl in your pages when you attach the DSP to your cardstock.

Repeat this process again for the other pair of DSP/cardstock.

You’ll follow a very similar process to attach one ‘book’ to the other! This time, use a piece of Tear and Tape on either side of the score line.

Add strips of Tear and Tape along the top of your finished book, and attach it to your easel cardbase.

Use Dimensionals to attach your “D” piece to the cardbase.

This piece holds your book upright when the card is open.

Now decorate as you choose to finish the card!

A view of the card when “closed”. It’s not exactly flat enough for mailing, but it would fit in a large envelope!

Don’t forget that the Whale of  a Time DSP, along with fourteen other Designer Series Papers, are all on sale this month for a 15% discount! It’s a great time to stock up and save on all your favourites. See the full list here!

This week’s Stampin’ Sunday video will show you how to make a fun fold half-front panel card using the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper. (Don’t forget that this paper, along with fourteen others, is on sale this month for 15% off!) This paper is particularly fun because it’s filled with whimsical pet images you can use to create terrific cards, even if (like me) you don’t have the Pampered Pets bundle.

You’ll need:

Two pieces of cardstock the same colour, measuring 5.5 x 4.25” and 3.25 x 4.25”.

You’ll also need the following cuts of DSP:
3 x 3.5”
4 x 2”
3 x 3/8”

And a white insert of 3 x 3.5”.

The Tasteful Touches stamp set is one of my favourites from the annual catalogue. I love the heartfelt sentiments in lovely, scripted font; the textured image stamps that are perfect as backgrounds or focal points; and the way the stamps co-ordinate so marvelously with the Tasteful Labels dies (bundled for a 10% savings, of course). I’ve created lots of cards with this stamp set, and it’s no surprise that I chose it to be the featured product in this month’s Creativity to Go. Be sure to sign up by October 10th to receive the stamp set along with all the supplies, products, and tutorials to make five wonderful cards such as the ones below!

Here’s a card I made in one of my recent videos, using the Offset Triple Time stamping technique. I thought the soft colours worked really well with the textured images in the stamp set!

Here’s another card featuring that beautiful flower, along with the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (on sale this month for 15% off!) and the co-ordinating Tasteful Labels dies. This blue and white paper reminds me of Dutch blue and white china! This card was CASE’d from Alejandra Gomez.

I like combining the stamp set with items from other bundles and suites, as well. The two cards below feature dies from Ornate Borders, Stitched Shapes, and Stitched So Sweetly.

Along with the bundle and the Designer Series Paper, the In Good Taste suite includes these classic wooden embellishments in a variety of shapes. They add some real texture and dimension to your card!

While the card above is stylishly masculine, you can also use the stamps to create very soft, feminine cards, like the two below. The stamp set is very versatile!

I love this simple yet special card, CASE’d from Ellen Woodbridge. The feather stamp is fun and looks good in a variety of colours!

Here’s another card using the feather stamp, this time inked with the baby wipe technique.

And finally, a classic simple stamping card, CASE’d from Sheri Melliere. I love creating random backgrounds like this with stamped images!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my showcase of this versatile stamp set. If you’d like to receive the stamp set along with the supplies and tutorials to make five terrific cards, be sure to sign up for Creativity to Go by October 10th!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m hopping along with the Seashore Stampers again today, and this month our theme is Halloween or Thanksgiving.  I decided to create one of each! I rarely create cards for either of these, but I love making little treat boxes and gift items at this time of year! Usually I make items like this with my daughter, and she hands them out to her classmates at school – this year, she is learning at home, so everything is a little different, but we still enjoy crafting together!

I created this simple treat box really quickly and easily with a sheet of Cinnamon Cider cardstock and some matching In Color DSP.

It was easy to use one of the dies from Tasteful Labels and a small piece of window sheet to create a peekaboo window of the treats inside!

I decorated the box with punch art using my Cat Punch and a large circle of Bumblebee cardstock for the moon. The “trick or treat” stamp came from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. That stamp set has EVERYTHING in it!!

BONUS! After creating this little box, I decided to create a second box with a Thanksgiving theme. Wouldn’t these look sweet as Thanksgiving table favours?

These are such simple little projects, but it really makes me happy to know that I can create quick and easy gifts like this, for any theme, with the supplies I have on hand. I didn’t even need to buy a lot of Halloween-themed items in order to create a fun Halloween-themed project! I encourage you to look at the items in your craft room and see what fun ideas you can come up with!

I hope you enjoyed my projects! Now don’t forget to click on the buttons below to continue on the blog hop, and enjoy all the other creations! Click on “Previous” to visit Bruni’s blog and “Next” to see what MiRan has created!

Happy Stampin’!
