I first made a folded corner card years ago, and recently rediscovered the fun and simplicity of this fancy fold. Here it is using Daisy Lane, one of my top picks from the new annual catalogue! Remember – Stampin’ Up! has given me a challenge to sell three of these stamp sets by July 22nd. So if this set is on your wishlist, I’d love for you to help me reach that goal!
Cut your cardstock to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (usual cardbase size). Score at 4-1/4″.
With your trimmer upside down, as shown in the photo, move the card to the 3″ line and cut from the 2-1/2″ mark to the 4-7/8″ mark. This will end your cutting 5/8″ from the edge of the card.
Rotate your card and line up at the 3″ mark; this will be at the end of your first cut line. Cut from there to the 5/8″ mark. That’s it!
Flip this square over to create the folded-corner on the front of your card. Crease with bone folder.
I think what really makes this card ‘pop’ is the extra cardstock layering on the front of the card and on the inside.
On the inside, you’ll have your usual white insert of 4 x 5-1/4″.
Add another layer behind that one of 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″.
On the front of the card, use the same colour you used on the inside, and one additional layer; measurements are 2-5/8″ and 2-3/4″ squares, and of course your white square in 2-/1/2″.
