2018 Colour Revamp

Stampin’ Up! is having a colour revamp! When a few core colours are changed, it’s a colour refresh. When many of the core colours change, it’s a colour revamp! Since there have been no changes made to the core colour offering since 2013, Stampin’ Up! decided 2018 is the year for a full colour revamp!

Here are the numbers:
• 27 of the existing core colours are staying
• 13 core colours are going away
• Adding 10 brand new core colours
• Adding 6 returning In Colors that will now be core colours (colours offered in the past that will now be available again – maybe some of your favourites are returning!)

The new colours will be available in the 2018-2019 annual catalog. The In Color offering will continue as previously, with  five new In Colors each year that are available for two years. The five existing In Colors from 2017-2019 will remain in the color offering. As usual, with the new catalogue there will also be five new 2018-2020 In Colors.

You can get inkpads, ink refills, and cardstock, along with other retiring products, at my online store. The store updates in real time, so as soon as supplies for an item run out, they won’t show on the store any more.

And here are the new colours!

And the full collection of colours available in the new 2018-2019 catalogue!

Which colour are you sad to say goodbye to? Which one are you not sorry to see retiring? And which new colour are you most excited to try out?

My answers are: Elegant Eggplant; Always Artichoke; and Granny Apple Green!

Want to make sure you receive a new annual catalogue when they become available in early May? Drop me a line to add your name to my list! In the meantime, be sure to check out the retiring items and grab any of those colours that you just can’t live without!

Quick Tip Tuesday: Eclipse Technique

I’ve talked about the Eclipse technique here before, but I just learned a really helpful tip that I think makes this technique even easier to do well! I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

We’re doing Eclipse technique at my classes this month, and because Mother’s Day is coming up I thought “Mom” would be a good word to include in the design. One problem, though: how to line up the “M – O – M” when I only have one M framelit?

It turns out this is a super easy problem to solve. Just cut out “M-O-M” (or whatever other letters you need) from scrap cardstock – I used black, to make it very obvious to myself and my crafters that these letters were not actually part of the project. Then line up these letters on your project and make small pencil marks to indicate the edges. Use those marks as guides for your framelit placement. Once the shapes are cut out, erase the pencil marks and assemble your card.

As you can see, I made a couple of different designs to encourage my crafters to make their own decisions about their card. I even made a birthday card in case someone doesn’t need a mother’s day card. Do you think “H B D” is a good abbreviation for “Happy Birthday”?

You could also use “YOU”, “LOVE”, or even the card recipient’s name (providing it is short enough to fit on the card!) What other words could you spell?

Thanks for joining me for this quick tip! I hope it’s helpful to you in your stamping! If you’re not currently working with a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I would love to work with you. Amazing Congratulations

Did you see the Amazing Congratulations stamp set in the Occasions catalogue? I love it! The ‘congratulations’ is a three-step stamp, which means you can add lots of texture and colour. Then, there is a fantastic collection of smaller sentiments to go with it:

There are even three different options for confetti: stars, hearts, and plain round confetti, which I used on the card below.

For this card, I used Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, and Dapper Denim ink. I also used my amazing Stamparatus tool, which will be available in the new annual catalogue starting June 1st. This fabulous stamp positioning tool helped me line up the layers of ‘congratulations’ flawlessly! If you’d like to see it in action, book a party and you can try it out yourself!

Have you created something with the Amazing Congratulations set or another two- or three-step stamp set? Show it off in the comments! I love to see your creations!
