Product Spotlight: Heartfelt Blooms

Sale-a-Bration is more than halfway over! We have just over four weeks left to earn amazing, exclusive free items with $60CAD purchase.

Last weekend, I had a play with the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set, along with my Painted Autumn designer series paper from last year’s holiday catalogue. I’m really pleased with the results! This gorgeous stamp creates an amazing texture on your project, with detailed shading that bring the flowers to life.

The above is stamped in Cajun Craze, while the below is stamped in Pumpkin Pie.

And just look what I did for my “Retiring In Colors” card set! What a great way to showcase these bright colours!

Sending Lots of Love

I’ve been in love with the Lots of Love stamp set for months now, and I’m so pleased that I am finally going to get to use it at some workshops! In fact, I have two different designs for two different workshops this month, both using the beautiful Whole Lot of Lovely designer series paper, which goes with the stamp set so well.

First, for my usual monthly workshop, we’ll be making this gorgeous card that also makes use of the Layered Leaves embossing folder. I love how this sentiment could be used for so many different occasions – birthday, thinking of you, get well, even a wedding card. After all, every card we send is sent with lots of love!

Then, for a home party I’m doing, I CASE’d this fabulous design from Sandi MacIver. It involves a bit of fussy cutting, but I think it will still be a hit!

What have you made with this stamp set? I love seeing your creations and reading your comments!

Waterfront Stamp Set

Lately I’ve been playing with the Waterfront stamp set and thoroughly enjoying its versatility. I wanted to showcase this set at one of my upcoming home parties, so I CASE’d this design from Ellen Vargo. I just love the way she used the Naturally Eclectic paper as a backdrop for the card. And as I stamped, I realized (perhaps) why she’d done it that way: once I had the Designer Series Paper to guide me, it was easy to choose the right ink colours to stamp my landscape. I am so pleased with the result, and can’t wait to share this with the party guests later this month! What other Designer Series Paper do you think would make a good backdrop for this stamp set? Party Pandas

I just adore this sweet little pandas in the Party Pandas stamp set! As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to create a Valentine’s card using the panda holding a letter.

I’m using up my stash of retired and non-Stampin’ Up paper, but the current Petal Passion paper would work so well with this card. I used my Melon Mambo watercolour pencil to colour in the heart on the envelope the panda is holding, and my Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles framelits to cut out the shapes. It’s a very simple card to create, and is sure to warm the heart of whomever receives it!

Here’s another adorable panda card I created! This card uses two Sale-a-Bration products – Party Pandas and Bubble Over Designer Series Paper! I also used the Layering Squares framelits and the Classic Label punch.

You can get the Party Pandas stamp set (or any other Sale-a-Bration product of your choice) for FREE when you order $60CAD in product before March 31st. You can order through my online store, or contact me to place your order. If you’re in Nanaimo, come along to a class to try out these and other current products!

Inspiration Cards

As I sat in my craft room this weekend, I was inspired to share with you some of the cards I keep in view while I’m creating. These cards are very special to me; not only do they inspire me with their beauty, they remind me of the people who gave them to me and the reasons I love to craft and create.

The card on the far right is from Dale Hampshire, the manager of Stampin’ Up! Canada. That’s right! Dale sent me a card when I reached my one-year anniversary as a demonstrator. I’ve never met him, but it sure made me feel good that this multi-national company recognizes each and every one of the demonstrators who represent their brand. And what better way to do that, than with a hand-crafted and hand-signed card?

These two cards are from my two new teammates, Christina and Claire. Welcoming these two warm, enthusiastic, and generous women to my team has been such a marvelous experience. Absolutely unbidden, each of them gave me a beautiful handmade thank you card within weeks of joining my team! I guess they both have the same conviction I have, which is that EVERY occasion is a good occasion to give a card 😀 Both of these cards are so lovely, and it makes me feel so connected to these two wonderful women to keep their creations in sight.

Finally, this card is made by my daughter, Gwen. She was eight at the time she made this card, entirely her own creation and design, inspired by the Delicate Flourish thinlits I’d just received. I love that she is such a bright and creative soul, who follows her ideas through to fruition. She is always welcome in my craft room, and I look forward to sharing many more hours of creativity with her!

Having these special and beautiful cards nearby makes me feel so loved. I am so glad I get to make and send so many handmade cards to people all over the world, to make them feel that way too. It is such an amazing feeling! I hope you will send a card today!

Tell me about a special card you’ve received! I love to read your comments!
